Milan Adamčiak (SK)

Milan Adamčiak was a Slovak conceptual artist, visual artist, musician, author of visual poetry, composer, and musicologist. He focused on graphic scores, performance art, visual and concrete poetry, and experimental composition. In 1989, he co-founded the avant-garde ensemble Transmusic comp., which, in addition to numerous performances in Slovakia, also played abroad. His works have been exhibited and presented worldwide, from Tokyo to New York. In his final years, he lived and created in the villages of Podhorie and Banská Belá in the Banská Štiavnica district. He passed away in early 2017. A few months later, the Slovak National Gallery opened his long-prepared retrospective exhibition, curated by Lucia G. Stach and Michal Murin, titled Adamčiak, začni!
