Petra Fornayová has previously held a lecture and run around the tennis court at JAMA, and this year she returns once again to breathe life into both old and new myths from the region with her performance titled sevenwomen, inviting you to join in.

The myths are as follows: According to legend, the Knights of Sitno will descend from above Štiavnica to save Slovakia when the time is darkest. But they haven’t come yet, so perhaps the worst is yet to come. Or maybe they forgot – and instead, seven women must take their place.

Petra Fornayová is a choreographer and theatre director. She has created over 20 original productions, including Grass is Green, Manifest of Possibilities, The End The End, Subjective Future, and Objects of Research, among others. She has directed contemporary theatre plays (e.g., Vyrypajev, Spregelburd), and her works are regularly performed in Slovakia and abroad at festivals such as Nová dráma, Divadelná Nitra, Jamais Vu! in Paris, Tanec Praha, Ars Cameralis in Katowice, HybajHo! in Prague, Korespondance, and others. In her pieces, she primarily addresses current social and political issues, rooted in fundamental post-conceptual approaches. She is the founder and dramaturg of the contemporary dance and movement theatre festival Nu Dance Fest.
