German professor emeritus of social sciences, skeptical agnostic, anarchist hedonist, musical dilettante, who was strongly influenced by the reading of Cage’s Empty Words in June 1979 in Bonn. He is one of the leading figures and, in his own way, the artistic leader of the John Cage Organ Project, which performs John Cage’s organ composition As Slow As Possible lasting 639 years in the small German town Hlaberstadt.
